Pool-gate, the nontroversey over the Dodgers’ , appears on the verge of swelling into a full-blown controversy. It was one thing for the Dodgers to violate baseball’s hallowed territory, .

Now it appears the Dodgers might have really taken it a step too far.

that some of the Dodgers players, yes, urinated in the pool during their celebration party:

There also are indications that MULTIPLE Dodgers players urinated into the pool, but I can’t tell you that with any certainty. It’s just what I’ve heard. What I can tell you is that it was only a handful of guys — maybe eight, give or take — who ran out and jumped into the pool. It would be presumptuous to assume that every one of them had the same thoughts running through his brain. Maybe there were some who really were just celebrating, nothing more. Maybe there were others who meant it as a direct slap in the face to the Diamondbacks.

I’m also told that one Dodgers player, upon leaving the pool and heading back to the clubhouse, said to a ballpark security guard, “This is OUR house.” Which apparently was meant as some sort of diss, but it kind of falls flat because it doesn’t really even make sense. The fact the Dodgers were wearing road grays that day and celebrating in the VISITING clubhouse would seem to suggest that it wasn’t, in fact, their house.

Bud Selig might have to step in to calm frayed nerves and or play mediator. This is literally peeing on the unwritten rules of baseball pool etiquette!

As silly as this whole story has been since last Thursday, it does make the first game between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks must-see. Don’t forget the two teams , and it included managers Don Mattingly and Kirk Gibson. There’s no love lost in either dugout.

Their first regular season encounter in 2014 happens be baseball’s opening series in Australia on March 22 and 23. We just might see some Aussie Rules tackles come into play.
